BONSERNEWS.com – The month of Dzulhijjah is a special month because in this month Allah SWT. ordered to carry out sacrifices for those who can afford it and to be the month of Hajj for Muslims.
Not only that, this month there is also a tasrik day which lasts for three days after Eid al-Adha to be precise on the 11th, 12th and 13th of Dzulhijjah.
On that day Muslims are not recommended to fast because on that day it is highly recommended to eat and drink and enjoy processed sacrificial meat.

Then what are the important practices that can be done in the month of Dzulhijjah, here’s the explanation:
1. Fasting Tarwiyah
Tarwiyah fasting is one of the sunnah fasts that can be done at the beginning of Dzuhijjah. The implementation is carried out every 8th of Dzulhijjah.
The virtue of this fast is that it can erase sins for one year which is explained in the hadith of Rasulullah SAW.
In addition, as narrated by Abu Hurairah in the Book of Nuzhah Al-Majalis wa Muntakhabb Al-Nafabari, the reward for fasting tarwiyah is like the reward that the Prophet Ayyub received when he was afflicted with leprosy.

2. Fasting Arafat
Arafah fast is a sunnah worship which is held every 9th of Dzulhijjah. Its implementation coincides with the wukuf worship at Arafah which is carried out by pilgrims.
The virtue of this fast in the hadith narrated by Abu Qatada said “Rasulullah SAW was asked about fasting on the day of Arafah? He replied that he erased sins a year ago and a year to come” (HR. Muslim).
