BONSERNEWS.com – Welcoming the Islamic New Year which falls on Wednesday, July 19 2023 tomorrow, Muslims in Indonesia usually hold prayers and pray together before Maghrib.
This is because, in the rules of the Islamic New Year, the new day counts starting when the sun has set, namely Maghrib.
For this reason, Muslims usually hold the Asr and Maghrib prayers together and read the prayers at the beginning and end of the Islamic New Year.

Year End Prayer
This prayer is read 3 times when it is time to enter Maghrib time, which is towards the turn of the end of the day in Islamic calculations.
??? Amen َى التَّوْبَةِ مِنْ بَعْدِ جَرَاءَتِيْ عَلَى مَعْصِيَتِكَ فَإِنِّي اسْتَغْفَرْتُكَ فَاغْفِرْلِي ْ وَمَا عَمِلْتُ فِيْهَا مِمَّا تَرْضَى وَوَعَدْتَّنِي عَلَيْهِ الثَّوَابَ فَأَسْئَلُكَ أَنْ تَتَبَّ لَ مِنِّيْ وَلَا تَقْطَعْ رَجَائِيْ مِنْكَ يَا كَرِيْمُ
Allah SWT alâ ma’shiyatik. Fa innî astaghfiruka, faghfirlî wa mâ ‘amiltu fîhâ mimmâ tardhâ, wa wa’attanî ‘alaihits tsawâba, fa’as’aluka an tataqabbala minnî wa lâ taqtha’ rajâ’î minka yâ karîm.
as it means,
“My Lord, I ask forgiveness for my actions this year which You have prohibited-while I have not had time to repent, my actions that You understand because of Your mercy-while You are able to torture me, and deeds (sins) that You command to repent-while I lunge at them means disobeying you. My Lord, I hope You will accept my deeds that You have blessed in this year and my deeds that You have promised to reward. Don’t make me despair. O Most Gracious God.”
