[ad_1] – Muslims carry out the pilgrimage in the month of Dzulhijjah to complete the pillars of Islam. They will do wukuf at Arafah as the culmination of the pilgrimage.

So, when will you stay at Arafah in 2023? Standing at Arafah is the most important part of the pilgrimage.

In fact, someone who does not perform wukuf will be considered not hajj. During the wukuf, the pilgrims will gather at Padang Arafah.

The majority of scholars are of the opinion that the time of wukuf at Arafah starts on the 9th day of the month of Dzulhijjah after sunset (dhuhur time) until dawn rises on the 10th day.

This information is mentioned in one of the hadith narrations narrated from Abdurrahman bin Ya’mar RA. Rasulullah SAW said:

Meaning: “Hajj is present at Arafah. Whoever comes at night jam’in (10 Dzulhijjah before dawn) then in fact he still gets the pilgrimage.” (HR At-Tirmidhi)

There are no specific rules regarding the time of standing, either during the day or night. However, pilgrims who perform their ablution during the day will be required to remain at Arafah until sunset (Maghrib). Meanwhile, for those who perform wukuf at night, no special rules apply.

Saudi Arabia has set a stay at Arafah on June 27, 2023. This is based on the decision of the Saudi Arabian isbat assembly which states that the 9th of Zulhijjah 1444 H falls on that date.

“Based on the isbat meeting, it was decided that God willing, the 9th of Zulhijjah will fall on June 27, 2023, and the information has been published today in the leadership groups,” said the Head of the Makkah Working Area (Kadaker) Khalilurrahman. The following is the Wukuf Schedule at Arafah 2023:

– 8 Zulhijjah 1444 H (26 June 2023): The movement of pilgrims from the hotel in Makkah to Arafah starts at 07.00 -22.00 WAS.

– 9 Zulhijjah 1444 H (27 June 2023): Pilgrims staying at Arafah from midday until Asr

– 9 Zulhijjah 1444 H (27 June 2023): Pilgrims departed from Arafah to Muzdalifah to collect stones thrown by the jumrah.

After that, namely until midnight on 10-13 Zulhijjah 1444 H (28 June-1 July 2023), the pilgrims will perform mabit and stoning at Mina.

The scholars are unanimously of the opinion that standing at Arafah is a great pillar of Hajj. Abdurrahman bin Ya’mar RA narrated that Rasulullah SAW ordered a caller to shout,

الحج عرفة من جاء ليلة جمع قتل طلوع الفخر فقد أدرك الحج.

Meaning: “Hajj is Arafah. Whoever comes (to Arafah) on the night of gathering (while staying at Muzdalifah or the night before Id Day), before dawn, then he has got Hajj.” (HR At-Tirmidhi, Ash-Habus Sunan, and Ahmad)

Described in Matan al-Ghayah wa al-Taqrib written by Abu Syuja’ al-Ashfahani, one who leaves one of the obligations of Hajj is obligatory for him to pay a dam (fine). Imam Baihaqi narrated with an authentic sanad from Ibn Abbas, he said, “Whoever leaves one of the rituals of Hajj (obligations of Hajj), then he is obliged to pay dam (fine).”

Wukuf is performed after the ablution sermon and the plural prayers of qashar, taqdim, Zuhr and Asr, in a calm and solemn state. During wukuf, the congregation can increase dhikr, istighfar, prayers and prayers according to the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad.
