It means: “O people! Eat from (food) that is lawful and good that is found on earth, and do not follow the steps of Satan. Truly, satan is a real enemy to you.”

In the interpretation of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion explained, Ibn ‘Abbās said that this verse was revealed because the Bani Saqif, Bani Amir bin Sa’sa’ah, Khuza’ah and Bani Mudli had forbidden food based on their own volition.

For example, it is forbidden to eat a female camel that has given birth five times and the fifth child is a male, then the ears are split open.

Then it is forbidden to eat a lamb with two lambs, one male and one female, then the male child cannot be eaten and must be handed over to idols.

Even though Allah SWT does not forbid eating camels and sheep, he has even explained what foods are forbidden in Surah Al-Maidah verse 3.
