BONSERNEWS.com – In the Tarjih Recitation on Wednesday (12/07), Member of the Tarjih and Tajdid Council of PP Muhammadiyah Muhammad Khaeruddin Hamsin said that there were four ways to resolve conflicts between arguments.

One of the methods of resolving the conflicting arguments is Al Jamu wa Al Tawfiq.

Khaeruddin Hamsin explained that Al Jamu wa Al Tawfiq is a compromise between conflicting arguments and finding an acceptable solution.

This step is very important because if it is possible to make a compromise, even if only partially, it becomes obligatory to practice the two conflicting propositions and not give preference to one of them.

This is because the basic principle in dealing with conflicting arguments is to make use of them rather than ignore them.

For example, Allah in Surat al-Baqarah verse 234, states, “And those who die among you and leave your wives, let those wives refrain (iddah) for four months and ten days.

“On the other hand, in another letter, Allah also said in Surah Al-Thalaq verse 4, “And women who are pregnant, their iddah period is until they give birth.”

There is a contradiction in two verses of the Koran, namely in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 234 and Surah Al-Thalaq verse 4.

The first verse determines the iddah period for a woman whose husband dies for 4 months and 10 days, regardless of whether the woman is pregnant or not.

Meanwhile, the second verse states that the iddah period for a pregnant woman is until she gives birth, without distinguishing between divorce and death.
